I couldn't understand some parts of this article on not to Buy Apple iPhone | Apple iPhone Community in Europe, but I guess I just need to check some more resources regarding this, because it sounds interesting.

Very good points. I use my phone to call people... I don't need all of the other gadgets and flashy things that come along with the iPhone. And for that price (which is surely to drop), what's the point?

While the phone itself is pretty neat the experience you will have with AT&T is HORRIBLE! We purchased 2 iphones on Friday june 29th. No physical body at any att store can set up your phone. It is done completely through itunes which you have to download through apple. It has been almost 3 days and we have been on the phone with att customer service for a total of at least 8 man hours. We were keeping our number from verizon to switch to att and our verizon phone no longer works as they gave permission to att to take. AND our apple iphone still does not work. We were around the 700,000 person to have a problem. Every customer service employee is exhausted with the phone calls that continue to keep coming in. I read that a minimal number of people were having problems in a report released and printed on yahoo.com which is a blatant lie. Just call att iphone customer service and they will be more than happy to tell you that there is an over abundance of calls coming in that makes the wait time to even speak to a rep 60 minutes. The phone is cool, but att is horrible and not worth the stress. If i had to do it over I would wait to the second edition and hope that they are a little more prepared and capable.
