The iPhone has only been out a few short days, but one website has already come forth and called shenanigans on Apple for the phone’s poor battery life.
According to an article over at WirelessInfo, they only managed to get a hair over 4 hours of talk time and a little over 3 hours of web browsing out of their iPhone. They haven’t yet completed their test for battery life while playing music, but already the numbers are falling very short of what Apple promised.

I don’t like calling shenanigans myself, but something really doesn’t add up here. First, none of the early reviewers mentioned that the battery life was this bad. Second, the article was published on June 29, the same day the iPhone came out. I may not be the best at math, but if the phone came out at 6PM and they got 4 hours of talk time and 3 hours of web browsing, it would have been 1AM before they completed the tests, not to mention the time it would take to charge the phone between tests. Granted, they could have been using two separate phones for the test, which would make it possible, however, they would still likely be cutting it close.

We haven’t heard any other reports of users complaining about poor battery life just yet, so hopefully their results were just a fluke. We are putting our own iPhones to the test, so check back for our own independent results.
