Having slated WaterField’s new range of iPhone cases earlier on today, it seems like a good time to present the opposite design extreme. The delectable Jenn over at Pocketables has had the good fortune to try out Vaja’s Urbano iPhone Pouch - a symphony in beautifully stitched and perforated leather - and written up a review that’s well worth reading if you’re in the market for a case that really does justice to your cellphone.

It’s more expensive - potentially a lot more expensive, depending on how much you take advantage of Vaja’s customisation options - than, say, the $35 WaterField Smart Case, with the Urbano range starting at $55, but considering the design, name cachet and general finish of the case you may be able to justify it.

Personally, what appeals the most to me are the design details, such as this embossed branded logo running through the inside of the pouch. It’s something most people would be unlikely to see, and in fact much of the time you won’t even spot it yourself, but it’s an example of the attention to detail that Vaja has become known for. And of course, if you don’t like Jenn’s eminently classic black-on-black case shown here, you can always go for something a whole lot wilder!
