News from an enemy camp. Mindy Mount, Microsoft’s vice-president has estimate Zune player to “B-”.

In big ZDNet interview, she has declared, that Zune show that it is in a good shape and it could become a very impressive opponent to Apple ipod - a leader in this market share (we all have to remember that Zune was born only 1 year ago). Sales were on predicted level and the company looks in a future with an optimism. But for now Zune trademark has very weak “weight” on the market.

Mindy has characterised iPod Mount as “motivational competitor” which existence is excellent stimulus for Redmond engineers. Future Zune features we don’t know yet, but second generation of Zune players is expected in the next few weeks. She has only confirmed, that Zune won’t become a phone YET, though such possibility is studied.

It is necessary to add only, that tonight Apple can add a little more “stimulus” for Microsoft: release of new iPod 6G model.
