New iTunes 7.4 player brought very bad news to owners of unlocked iPhone. This upgrade has smashed almost all existing iPhone hacks, two most important things are jailbreak applications and ringtone installer. But don’t worry, smart guys works not only in Apple company, from this moment hackers all over the world have started their engines on full throttle and i think during next few days all bugs will be solved.

Nullriver’s Installer.app has already been updated and now perfectly working with iTunes 7.4. Breezy and iBrickr developers are hardly working on updates of their applications.

The main thing what iTunes 7.4 has changed in Apple iPhone was feature of access Apple iPhone file system.

iBrickr software developer well known Nate True reports that all features except ringtones-without-jailbreak are working. He expects that ringtones-without-jailbreak are broken for all apps including iToner and iPhoneRingtoneMaker, regardless of software and that they will not survive a sync.

One of the rumors is that Alpha version of Windows AppTapp/Installer.app is being tested for this moment, so PC users should be quite happy.

Today on Apple.com has appeared an official Steve Job’s letter to all iPhone buyers in which Jobs has apologised for so radical falling of the price for iPhone and as indemnification has offered the 100$ credit for purchase of any products in Apple’s online shop or in Apple Store. Certainly, it is not absolutely that indemnification which users wanted, but not bad at all for the beginning.
A few sentences from his letter:

“I have received hundreds of emails from iPhone customers who are upset about Apple dropping the price of iPhone by $200 two months after it went on sale. After reading every one of these emails, I have some observations and conclusions. First, I am sure that we are making the correct decision to lower the price of the 8GB iPhone from $599 to $399, and that now is the right time to do it.
Second, being in technology for 30+ years I can attest to the fact that the technology road is bumpy.
Third, even though we are making the right decision to lower the price of iPhone, and even though the technology road is bumpy, we need to do a better job taking care of our early iPhone customers as we aggressively go after new ones with a lower price.
Therefore, we have decided to offer every iPhone customer who purchased an iPhone from either Apple or AT&T, and who is not receiving a rebate or any other consideration, a $100 store credit towards the purchase of any product at an Apple Retail Store or the Apple Online Store.”

Steve Jobs has declared in an interview to USA Today, that Apple will not compensate a difference in prices of iPhone to those owners who purchased it for 600 $. We will remind, that yesterday Apple company declared radical reduction of prices on Apple iPhone from 600 to 400$.

With this step the company has made Apple iPhone 10 times more attractive for new buyers, however simultaneosly has raised very deep disappointing among those users who had time to buy it earlier for 600$. They think, that so huge price reducing after 2 months from the beginning of iPhone sales shows Cupertino’s disrespect for the most devoted Apple fans. Well i cannot disagree with these words…

However Jobs considers that this is a similar situation like when some company reduces the price before Christmas season , there is nothing surprising or unusual. It is a widespread practice. However, Jobs has apologised for the delivered negative, but he refused to compensate a difference between the old and new prices. “It is technology”, Apple’s head has declared, when journalist have asked him to say something to the first iPhone buyers. “If you have bought iPhone this morning you should return to the shop and to talk to them. If you have bought it one month ago… Well, such things happens in technology”. I think Jobs wanted to say, “Shit happens”.

Jobs also has added, that increasing manufactere’s volumes has allowed to reduce the price by 200$ and it won’t become serious blow on Apple’s profit volumes.
