From the moment when the iPhoneSIMFree team has released their unlock software in the web, smart guys all over the world working very hardly to understand how this hack works. First who have managed to get a clue were guys from iPhone Dev Team, they noticed that iPhoneSIMFree developers had managed to free SIM-card by figuring out that you can write flash to the baseband of Apple iPhone. So you can manage the chip that controls the main voice and system functions of iPhone.

This clue was enough for these geniuses to work out their own iPhone’s unlocking method. So today they have released iUnlock, the first completely FREE open source iPhone’s unlocking software. HaRRo one of the iPhone Dev Team members, was first who has published this free unlocking application in the web.

Engadget also has confirming that this hack is really working but it seems that YouTube might not work after unlocking. Another amazing feature of thiss app that it is completely restore-resistant. However, remember there are no guarantees that after unlocking your baby will stay a fully functional device, so you will be doing it at your own risk.
