Apple has published on apple.com details how every dissapointed iPhone’s owner could receive $100 credit, i mean those owners who bought iPhone before August, 22nd. You have to surf to apple.com/iphone section and enter your phone number and your iPhone serial number to determine eligibility. After that you will receive an SMS message on your iPhone, which includes the special access code with which you could redeem the $100 credit, to buy something you must enter this access code at the online Apple Store.

This is what Apple says:

“Requests for the $100 credit must be submitted by November 30, 2007. You must activate your iPhone with AT&T prior to submitting your claim. Once you activate, return to this page after 24 hours to request your credit.”

You can also request your $100 credit directly from Apple Retail Store, or through Apple Telesales (1-800-MY-APPLE). Of course you have to understand that this credit is not redeemable for cash.

And what about users, who bought Apple iPhone after August 22nd, well, they could request the $100 credit instead of $200 price protection refund only after September 19th. This is how Apple explains this issue:

“iPhones purchased from Apple or AT&T and invoiced to you between August 22, 2007, and September 4, 2007, are eligible for price protection. The deadline for price protection claims is September 19, 2007. […] After September 19, 2007: If you do not file your claim for price protection by September 19, 2007, you may submit a claim after that date for a $100 Apple Store credit via the procedure outlined at www.apple.com/iphone/storecredit.”
