Company Elgato has released update of their application EyeTV 2.5 for viewing and telerecording which now includes support of Wi-Fi for Apple iPhone and iPod Touch player, and also possibility to record from Live Buffer.

The support of Wi-Fi for Cupertino gadgets will allow their owners to get access to libraries of records in EyeTV and search it through local Wi-Fi network. iPhone and iPod Touch are connected through Safari browser to a Web-server with installed EyeTV 2.5 which provides access to recorded programs archive and to playlists.

Live Buffer’s buffer contains fragments of all recent “live” telecasts. EyeTV 2.5 can record it and save on your Mac. For this purpose it is necessary to choose a record index point on a time ruler, and to press the red “Record” button, that’s it. All functions of navigation works during recording from Live Buffer.

iPhone and iPod Touch users can export to their gadgets recorded files one by one, all you need is to choose the necessary recorded file and to press the new button “iPhone” in EyeTV toolbar.

The new version also includes support of Freebox IPTV, speed of converting of HDTV video in H.264 format is increased and timeshifting function for the analogue TV-tuners which do not have built in encoder is improved.

EyeTV 2.5 is on sale for 80Euro. Update is free for EyeTV 2 users.

System requirements: Mac OS X v10.4 and above, G4 processor or above or Intel, 512MB RAM.
