A new rumor has appeared in the Web concerning of joining of Google and Apple forces, well, it could bring all famous Google’s online applications like Gmail, Docs, Calendar into Apple iPhone. Recently Google has launched improved Gmail interface for iPhone.
The update includes more configurable labels and views. For example, you can see your Drafts and Spam boxes, you know in case you need some personal enhancement products. Or if a friend sent you a message that was accidentally marked as spam.

Another amazing app called iGmail - it is Ruby on Rails application which name speaks for itself.

iGmail is a simple interface of your Gmail inbox, designed for the iPhone’s native screen. You can try this app from their demo website. In this demo site, your login details are not stored. They are saved in a cookie of your iPhone. But, this server is not powerful (sometimes it’s very slow). Although it’s not encrypted. iGmail is very cool app, but it is definitely missing a lot of important features like the current Todo list, contacts management, JKeyboard use.

Now we can’t speak that the true fault of all Palm’s troubles is Apple iPhone, but certainly this Apple’s gadget has caused the huge Palm’s stocks fall. Today Palm corporation has declared results of the next financial quarter which appeared not the most pleasant - pure losses - $800,000.

Ville Heiskanen from Bloomberg has reported today: “Palm Inc. had its first loss in more than three years as sales of its Treo e-mail phone lagged behind the BlackBerry and iPhone. The company’s shares fell 4.5 percent after this quarter’s forecast missed analysts’ estimates”.
The first-quarter loss was $841,000, or 1 cent a share, compared with a profit of $16.5 million, or 16 cents, a year earlier, Palm said today in a statement. Treo sales fell to 689,000 in the quarter, which ended Aug. 31, from 750,000 in the previous period”.

As experts consider, the next two - three quarters can become determining for Palm. Chances are 50/50.

Yes, Palm has recently released two new models. One of them - Centro - is focused on basic users and it is very well balanced device with quite good chances of success. Second model Treo 500V will be interesting to business-users, and offers 3G support.

“The iPhone, which combines Cupertino, California-based Apple’s iPod music player with a Web-browsing mobile phone, sold 1 million units in the first 74 days after its June 29 debut,” Heiskanen reports.

The main problem for Palm is that the press now practically ignores the company, giving all the attention to a new Apple iPhone.
