Very unexpected information has opened Timothy Cook, the main operational manager of Apple, at the press conference devoted to results of the next quarter of 2007. He has declared, that at this moment approximately 250 thousand Apple iPhones has been sold to people, “with one purpose to unlock iPhone and get out from AT&T”.
As we know for this moment has been sold about 1,4 million devices, and after simple calculations we can say that every sixth Apple iPhone is bought for the subsequent unlocking.

Is it good or bad for Apple and AT&T? It depends on, whether you work in AT&T or in Apple. From the point of view of AT&T, this fact, certainly, is scandalous. However we should first ask - how many unlocked iPhones have remained in USA? We suspect, that this number is several times smaller than 250 thousand. It is expected, that when in November Apple iPhone will go on sale in Great Britain, Germany and France, the number unlocked devices will essentially be reduced - inhabitants of these countries actively participate in purchasing of unlocked devices through eBay.
Let me remind you, last week the second round of opposition of Apple and hackers has successfully ended. Has ended with our victory, guys have managed to crack a new iPhones 1.1.1 firmware.
