Today Myitablet.com has published very interesting photo of Chinese iPhone’s Keyboard from Shanghai. Looks not so bad in my opinion. Chinese hackers have made impossible - embedded 3500 chinese hieroglyphs in about 40 buttons…

And now some Wiki information. In Chinese language each morpheme (a significant syllable) means one unique hieroglyph. The official language of China (Putunhua) contains about 400 syllables differing by sound structure; language tones multiplies this number by three-four times. The official list contains almost 3500 most common hieroglyphs.
We all Russians and Americans are very lucky people (in Russian language - 31 letters, in English - 26 letters).
