Today exists only four methods of interaction of the user with the touch screens. It can be:
- Resistive sensor. Reacts on pressing by change of resistance in a point of influence.
- Acoustic sensor. Glass of the screen constantly imperceptibly vibrates under influence of the radiators embedded in three corners of the screen. A touch on the screen changes a picture of distribution of acoustic fluctuations, that is registered by sensors.
- Infra-red sensor. Around the touch screen are embedded radiators and receivers of infra-red radiation.
- Capacitor (electrostatic) sensor. The user influences on the touch screen not only mechanically, but also electrically. Before the touch cell phone’s screen has some electric charge. The touch of a finger changes a point voltage, “delaying″ a part of a charge to a point of pressing. Sensors of the touch screen located in four corners, watch for a charge on the screen, determining thus coordinates of “electron outflow”.

Capacitor sensor is used in Apple iPhone. Only few know, that touch screen of iPhone maintains up to billion pressings in the same place. You can press safely, you won’t hurt it.
But what to do, if your iPhone has fallen and the touch screen was broken. Mushuro from iPhones.ru gives advices.
1. You have to very carefully check up the screen itself. The matter is that in iPhone atop of the glass screen is established “grid”, which acts as one of the capacity plates, the second is your finger. Atop of all these layers - «thick mineral glass».
2. If only glass was broken, the device will live. Cracks create only aesthetic inconvenience and a danger of a cut.
3. If the screen itself was busted, that life sucks. A liquid crystal will flow, no matter what, and in couple of weeks you will be the owner of half-blind device. You can check up the touch screen by a nail, just press on a crack. If you will see around a crack the dark area in yellow-petrol border - you can through away your lovely toy, it’s better to buy a new one. So be careful, be patient, care your
iPhone.
