Today during opening of Mobile World Congress, Sony Ericsson has presented first cell phone with high-grade touch interface. Journalists immediately have named it as “The Next iPhone murderer”, new XPERIA X1 works under Windows Mobile OS, in cooperation with own unique SE user interface called “XPERIA panels”. XPERIA X1 is equiped with optical joystick and sliding QWERTY-keyboard.

The Press-service of Sony Ericsson itself has named this novelty as the most perfect Internet device in all company history&nbspwith extremely impressive list of supported communication standards - GSM 850/900/1800/1900, EDGE, broadband technologies HSDPA, HSUPA and of course 3G - five ranges of UMTS plus built in Wi-Fi adapter and GPS-module.

Media features of XPERIA ͱ are impressive three-inch display with maximum resolution 800х 480 pixels, built-in 3,2 MPix photocam (triple digital zoom plus video recording), 400Mb of built-in phone memory, slot for microSD flash cards, mobile version of Opera 9.5 and few 3D-games. Gadget’s weight is only 145 gramme, and you can the size of XPERIA X1, comparing XPERIA with its main competitor Apple iPhone:

The release of new “iPhone murderer” on sale is planned on second half of 2008, and the countries in which XPERIA X1 will be on sale will be limited. The price for SE gadget is not announced, yet.
